I just finished a quilt top that was the most fun I ever had making a quilt. You start with 12-18 inch squares of different compatable colors. I was curious about the results so just used a bunch of junk scraps I didn't like. Thinking I could always use it as a picnic quilt. Now I think I will do another with better colors. The instructions appeared on here at some time or other. Try it you will love it.

I started one like this a few years ago for my daughter, but it's from the book Crazy Shortcut Quilts. It's a quilt as you go. It was a lot of fun and the blocks went together very quickly, but the quilting on it is monotonous - so I take it out every few months and quilt a block or so then put it away.
I like it with your scraps - it's very pretty. |
