Hi, I'm looking for an easy tutorial for the fast way to make 4 patches. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Here is a secret for making multiple 4 patches at a time. Amazingly simple, thought up by a dear, dear quilty friend years ago, we used this technique SO many times!

Jan,

LOVE this method!

Have you ever put together a list of all the shortcuts you have used? I, for one, would love a list. :)

zennia 03-10-2013 05:06 AM

Thanks Jan. Love your way.

Thanks, Jan! That's ingenious! I have only made 4-patches for scrappy quilts, but will definitely use this method when I need multiples.

To sew 4 patches, I use them as leaders/enders while sewing other blocks. That way they add almost no time.

Actually, both way are super simple! Depending on what size of fabric you start with I could see using either method. Thanks. I learned something this morning. I guess that you truly can teach an old dog new tricks!!

I like Billie Lauder's method. Do a you tube search. It's there.

Cool tutorial from Missouri Star Quilt Company. I have never thought of that before but how easy. I would see where she was going and "how easy is that?". I have piles of 5x5 scraps cut and ready to go. Wish I could zip out of the office and go try this right NOW. Thanks for the post.
