I have made a lot of quilts from M'Liss Rae Hawley's 2 books: Fat Quarter Quilts & More Fat Quarter Quilts. Her instructions are really good and my favorite part is that she gives pressing directions.

If my memory serves me there is a pattern called "seeds of time". That is a freebie on the net, it used Kansas troubles is I think it is maybe a log caching type pattern.
I also think that Kansas troubles would be great in courthouse steps and fatquarters would work great. I can see Kansas troubles making a great nine patch too. http://quiltville.blogspot.com/2005/...hurn-dash.html |
Lovely quilt Rebecca. I'll have to keep this pattern in mind.

Personally? I can see "Kansas Troubles" being GORGEOUS in just about any pattern! And you can NEVER go wrong with a 9-Patch. Another suggestion would be one I want to make (in Civil War repos) called "Chunky Churndash" from Quiltville. Here's a pixture of it (from the blog) & a link to the pattern. Whatever you make, please make sure you post it! Inquiring minds...

Try the Pincushion Boutique. They carry patterns by Pressed for Time which specialize in using fat quarters. I have several of their patterns and love them all.

Have you tried: modabakeshop.com
I always find good stuff there! |
Some of the Buggy Barn patterns use a stack of fq's that you slice through, shuffle, and sew back together again. I made the one with the star overtop of the heart. Easy and very pretty! There's a website. Check them out.

OK OK What the heck is Kansas Troubles... is it a fabric line?.. I am really confused.
|
Kansas Troubles is a line of fabric put out by Moda. Mostly darker, flowers and stripes. Kind of like they would use on Little House on the Prarie!!!
