Fat Quarter Source for Celtic Solstice?
 

Hi everybody! I was planning on doing this mystery quilt, but lack enough of Bonnie's prescribed colors and want to pick up a bunch of fat quarters for variety. None of our local shops (that I'm aware of) carry a very large selection of fat quarters. Can any of you recommend a good source....ebay seller or etsy maybe for reasonably priced fat quarter collections by color? Or, do you know of a shop in my area (Chattanooga, TN) that has lots of fat quarters? Thanks a bunch!

Connecting Threads fat quarter samplers are the best value.

I have been doing some shopping on line and those stores are the best that I know of for fat quarters. Good Luck in your search.

I'm also planning to do Bonnie's mystery quilt. While my lqs was my first shopping stop, I'm planning to go to a quilt show this weekend to shop the vendor hall. If I still need more after that I will try the above options. If you have an upcoming show in your area this might be an answer for you. You can never have too much variety in a Bonnie Hunter quilt! I would have liked to work totally from stash on this. I'm trying so hard. But somehow it's already resulted in a fabric.com order!

Many times when doing "Bonnie quilts" I buy 1/4 yard pieces from my LQS to get a larger variety of prints. It's often a little cheaper than FQs. This method also works well for me when I am broke but feel the need to purchase fabric. Just three or four quarter yard pieces can be very therapeutic at times, lol.

Fat Quarter pickings around here are slim to practically none except batiks; prices are also high. So I buy my FQs online and when I'm on the mainland.

OK, it's not near you but a "Day Trip" away. Mammaw's Thimble in Knoxville is well worth the trip. She has FQs below every bolt of fabric. The shop is huge, the people are nice, and the selection of fabric is to die for! I miss it terribly. :(

As mentioned above, Connecting Threads has fantastic prices and I've bought kaboodles of FQs from C.T. and have never been disappointed. Those sweeties have thrown in extra cuts more than once in my packages. :)

I've also bought a lot of FQs from Crazyquiltgirl. Prompt service, great prices, a great selection from name-brands, and she's a nice person (which counts in my book). :)

Thanks again! I've been debating a road trip down to the Atlanta area to scout out fat quarters but Mammaw's certainly looks inviting! No website, but I found some pictures of the shop interior online.
