if your looking to make strips, IMHO I would NOT buy the 1/4" strip. You do not always realize how much you if you pre-wash it, or even if you don't, you have a lot of possiblities of loose threads pulling away and when you need that last final strip, you may not enough due to the tatter edges. I'm only injecting this, not because I'm an expert, by no means, but because I have done it. No one starts out knowing everything and I knew less then that. But it would be very informational to follow along this, tongue in cheek, thread...

Since I was on a budget and I don't wash my fabric, I went and bought 1/3 yard pieces instead of FQs or 1/2 yard pieces. Thanks to everyone for their advice and comments on this thread. As always, very informative!!!
