Fav layer cake pattern

When I organized my fab room, I found several packages of layer cakes...never used. Did not write down what pattern I wanted to use. Pintrest is too confusing for this. Making kid friendy themed donation quilts. Can't wait for your suggestions.

What about making pinwheel blocks? Here is a link to a fast and easy method.

I will have to say Double Slice from Missouri Star! Fast and easy and requires no background fabric. You can also search for patterns that use just Layer Cakes there as well. With 2 Layer Cakes you get a nice size quilt, with 1 you get a nice size toddler quilt.

MSQ's "Double Slice" is also a quick and easy one.

I am trying a new one but cannot attest to how easy it is…Layer Cake Lollies by Fat Quarter Shop

I also am assembling the rows of a lap size Hour Glass quilt (I think there’s a free pattern) by Amy Smart of Diary of a Quilter and another pattern is available by Cluck Cluck Sew.

I turn to MSQC tutorials for my layer cake patterns. My favorites are Kindred Pinwheel, Dizzy Daisy, Prairie Flower and her Disappointing Hourglass patterns.

I am making "Letters from Home" by Honeybearlane.com. it is easy, cute, and easy to make. So cute that I had to order more charms to make it bigger I loved it so much.

One of my favorite quilt patterns that I've made several times is by Gudrun Erla (GEDesigns) called Kira. It's fun and easy to make, too!

I have a layer cake of "I Spy" fabric that I never got around to using when I was swapping I spy charms. If I ever get back to quilting, I am going to use it to make Roman Holiday by Fabric Cafe for a donation quilt.

I wanted to make a quilt for Project Linus and use up some of the fabric I had. I had some bright red, gray and blue cowboy boots fabric. So, I used a 3 yard quilt pattern because was really easy. In the Roman Holiday pattern, the focus fabric is cut to 9.5 inches, which is close to the layer cake size. I'll just cut the I Spy layer cake to 9.5 inches and use it as the focus fabric instead of yardage.

Framed is a free pattern on Silk Road Life site. I have used many times. Basically, a square in a Square.
