Favorite brand - solid white fabric?
I'm looking to order some really nice quality solid white quilting fabric. Does anyone have a brand they love? I use so much white fabric in my projects, I'm always running out. I live an hour away from a quilting store and I'm not making the trip much with a newborn at home. I don't love buying fabric I can't see and feel in person but I'd like to find a white one I can stick with. I usually go for a very high quality, bright white muslin.

I usually go for the premium (200 ct) muslin. Legacy, Kaufman & Southern Belle are all very nice. They wash up nicer too than cheaper muslin. Not so many wrinkles. And they are a nice way to stretch out my stash of quilt shop quality prints. I can often find the Southern Belle on ebay for $3.50/yard. The seller is franks11. He sells in lots starting around 6 yd pieces. Shipping is fast too.

I like Kona cream, snow, and ivory.

I like Kona. I also use it a lot and buy it by the bolt, I think it is 10 yards?

I've been using the Kona lately too. I also was looking for something I could stick with. Whites are not all made the same. How many different colors of white can there be?lol

No question -Moda Bella. Love the quality of this fabric line.

I agree with Judi in Ohio , Moda Bella

I have always used Kona cotton by Robert Kaufman. I don't buy the stuff at JAF anymore. Fabric Shack and Hancock of Paducah carry the hundreds of color that Kona comes in but I keep white, snow and black in stock. I have heard on this post that you can buy a bolt from Hancock of Paducah.

Moda Bella is the one I use.

I usually buy Kona Snow from Fabric.com 10 yards at a time. It comes to me on a roll, which I also appreciate. I would be happy to buy the Bella as well if I knew which color was closest to Snow.

Wow thanks for all the replies! Nice to know I'm not the only one that obsesses over white fabric! I can't ever seem to keep enough on hand to finish projects so I'm going to try buying it by the bolt.

I too like Kona ( yes there are several "white" colors) , but I also like Legacy ( a JoAnns brand).
|
Does the white color vary from bolt to bolt with the Kona? Or doesn't it matter if you get the fabric off of different bolts?
|
It is Kona for me also. I love it and have always had wonderful results with it.
|
I usually buy Kona at the LQS, but recently I purchased Moda Bella. I love it! It doesn't seem to fray as much as the Kona.
|
I have used Kona White (true white) and Kona Snow (creamy white) with great success. I haven't seen the Moda Bella at any of the shops I frequent.

My favorite is Moda Bella. MSQC has Bleached White on sale as the daily deal today.

There is a new cotton fabric that s totally American -- cotton grown and processed into fabric in Texas. It is a very nice fabric! A little finer than Kona Cotton.
|
Do you have a link to the Texas made fabrics?
