favorite easy fat quarter pattern
So I have a wonderful new Juki and I want to practice my FMQ skills. I also have a tiny sewing room and a ton of fabric including oodles of fat quarters. To kill 2 birds with one stone, I want to piece a few quick tops from my stash and use them to practice on and then donate them.
I have a Turning Twenty pattern, and I will use that. I think I can also do a fast rail fence, but would love to hear about your favorites. I am looking for patterns that will use up FQ without needing too much other fabric (trying to bust the stash and not spend much this month). Thanks! |

My favorite fat quarters pattern is "Crumbs" by Me and My Sisters.

Atkinson Designs has a lot of FQ patterns. Lucky Stars is my favorite. Great background to do your FMQ in!

Lucky Stars is one of my faves, too. It's easy, but a step up from Yellow Brick Road if you are still working on your piecing skills.

I love the Wickedly Easy pattern for FQs it makes even ugly fabric look great!
|
Atkinson has some great patterns as stated by others.

I just finished a top using Cozy Quilt Designs' Serenity pattern. http://www.cozyquilt.com/Aspx/Produc...productID=1092 I used all FQs but the pattern also gives options for using a combination of FQ and strips/squares. Just click on the "Fabric Requirements" on the Cozy Quilt page to see the options. The other pattern I just cut is 3,6,9 pattern by The Quilt Company. http://store.thequiltcompany.com/sto...3&Item_ID=1640

Love that wickedly easy quilt carslo. I think I might use that free pattern for some of my charity quilts.

Thanks for all the suggestions...theres a lot of patterns that utilize fat quarters, but also need yardage...I am aiming for quilts like turning 20 that can be made with a collection of fats quarters alone...trying to thin the stash without buying more yardage...plus they go together quick so I can concentrate on the quilting part of quilting.

Wow, thank you all so much for the great sites for FQ quilts. I need to bust my stash and I now have some great ideas!
|
my favorite is the Krazy Kwilt made with 12 fats. stack, cut, rotate pieces and sew..
|
Where is that quilt pictured?

I have in my hand the new magazine I bought at Safeway store two days ago called 'Best Fat Quarter Quilts'. It's made by Quilter's Newsletter. It just came out. It has loads of patterns. I'm sure you can find it at your local stores.

Is "Wickedly Easy" an Atkinson's pattern too? Or...where can I find it?
|
I like Fat Friday by All Washed Up.
|
This one is made from 4" & 6" blocks. One can get nine 6" blocks from a FQ.
