Can some of you tell me exactly "what" a nippers is, and the brand you like. I've seen posts where people swear by them. Thanks!

I have 2 pairs of little Gingher nippers. I love them. I keep one attached to my sewing machine with velcro so it is there to clip all kinds of threads.
|
I have had many but I like Gingher the best. Mine are attached to SM also.

I have some I got on sale at Fabric Depot. Not sure of the brand but they sure are handy to keep by machine. Get lost a lot though so I guess I should try attaching them to machine. :)

I bought this little pair of nippers at a truck show for only $1.00. They are/were the best things I have. Starting to dull out, so I need to find more!

Most nippers you don't put your fingers in rings (like scissors) you just squeeze them to snip your threads. My favorite is Gingher but mine came in a set-I'm sure you can buy them separately too.

I like gold seal nippers. They have a fine tip and work to unpick seams. they have a ring to wear on your finger while you sew (you dont have to put them down between uses) They stay sharp for ages and if they ever need to be sharpened they can be done just like good scissors. I have friends who have been using the same pair for over 25 years and they are still working like new.

I love the Fons and Porter snippers. They can be a little hard to find though.

I love my Gingher nippers! Guess I should get at least one more so I can have one by machines and o9ne by my easy chair.
