How wonderful!!! In Ohio, 8th graders do a unit on Harriet Tubman and the Underground Railroad. My goal - maybe next summer, is to make a sampler of quilt squares that were used on the Underground Railroad with the name of the block and its meaning. When I find the blocks, I am going to have to find a way to let the kids help me w/ it....That would be fun for the kids....Now some thought will have to go into this...

Reproduction Fabrics and Vintage and Vogue are the two sources I most use for repro fabrics.
For solid black I'd use Gohn Brothers. They're Mennonites and I don't think they have a website. I deal with them thru their catalogue (no pictures) and by phone. |
