Favorite Quilting Blogs
What are you favorite quilting blogs?
Mine include Pleasant Home, Diary of a Quilter, Red Pepper Quilts, PS I Quilt, and The Happy Zombie. |
I spend so much time on the computer already, I really try not to read any blogs. Occasionally I find a really nice one when searching for something, or when referred by this site, but I don't go back - too dangerous! Might get hooked and then I'd never get anything done!

Quiltville
|
Freemotionquilting, The Bitchy Stitcher, Crafty Vegas Mom, Describe Happy, CrazyMomQuilts and of course tjzoriginalz.blogspot.com :)
|
I spend more time here than I should .. so I have avoided another computer habit.
|
I don't read the blogs but CrazyMomQuilts has given me some great instructions for quilt blocks. Her directions are easy to understand for a novice like me.
|
Probably not wise for me to explore any of these sites that have been mentioned, I will not get any sewing done then.
|
Exuberant Color and Quilts, Etc.
|
I have some sites, but only visit them occasionally so I will have time to quilt.
http://sewtakeahike.typepad.com/sewtakeahike/ http://www.aquiltinglife.com/ http://busyascanbe.blogspot.com/ http://busyascanbe.blogspot.com/ http://myvintagemending.blogspot.com/ http://myrosevalley.blogspot.com/ http://www.cluckclucksew.com/ http://beeinmybonnetco.blogspot.com/...n+My+Bonnet%29 |
I don't go to any blog sites. I spend my free time on this site when at home or work. I work for my Husband and can do whatever I want when the work is done.
|
I enjoy SewCalGal http://sewcalgal.blogspot.com/

Oh gosh I feel so guilty spending the time on here that I do, that I won't let myself get lost in another blog or forum. But I sure like to get my 'fix' for the day!

pamhollanddesigns.typepad-----------------a real addiction
|
I love reading blogs!!!!
I hardly ever react though because then I spend even more time on the pc. But I learned so much tricks and techniques through the blogs, I've never did a workshop, everything I learned was through the internet and then mostly from the blogs. And it's often so inspiring seeing all those pictures. |
There is a site that I lost when moving and changing computers, that I would like to find again.
The family cat even had a say about things. Cant remember anything except the cat giving his say on things. |
http://catpatches.blogspot.com/
She's more than just quilting. She has cats she talks about and cooking and traveling. |
I like the quilt magazine blogs. All have blogs now. Lots of great info and free patterns posted on those. Connecting Threads has a great blog. Also lots of give a ways. I read Bonnie Hunter's blog: http://quiltville.blogspot.com/ She posts a lot of free patterns and now has a instant cam that she turns on when she is in her sewing room sewing and interacts with her blog readers while showing lots of her tips and tricks. All the quilt designers and authors have blogs too.
|
The two I read everyday are Bonnie Hunter's and www.joscountryjunction.com
Also, if you are a dog lover, try www.sailorhere.blogspot.com This one is written totally from the dog's point of view. The author is a quilter who participates in a yahoo group for Bonnie Hunter. She has beautiful collies. |
Great thread!

I love my blogs!
Freemotion by the River http://www.conniekresin.com/ Saltwater Quilts - if you look today she is displaying one of my favorite quilts. http://www.saltwaterquilts.com/ Tall Grass Prairie Studio http://tallgrassprairiestudio.blogspot.com.au/ Oh Fransson! http://www.ohfransson.com/oh_fransson/ And bunches of others!! Some of which were mentioned earlier by others. I've learned a lot from the QB and from the blogs. I try to limit my time on the computer, though, because you are right - you could spend all your time there and not get any quilting done. And I have two new quilts to post today but I'll do that separately. :) |
I visit the blog- swim, bike, quilt

Every morning I read www.ihaveanotion.blogspot.com while I'm drinking my coffee. It's my all time favorite. She usually demonstrates new products. She also has a store by the same name. She travels to many quilting places and always takes lots of pictures. Pictures in all her blogs. Gotta love it. I also read www.sewmamasew.blogspot.com. She has a guest speaker almost every day. Highly educational.
|
I check into Quiltville ( Bonnie Hunter ) daily. She is a constant quilter so her posts are to the point. I love the free patterns and her many great finds at antique malls. I have at least a half dozen ideas for quilts I'd like to make from the vintage quilts she has written about. The leaders and Enders challenge is an inspiration too...use pre kitted (already cut from scraps) fabric and sew together at beginning and end of an ongoing project. It's a fast way to have enough made up blocks for a completely different project. I try to keep my blog surfing to 30 mins per day. Of course I visit the quilting board once a day too.
|
So much information to keep me from my quilting.....thanks, ladies.
