Feathered Star Pattern

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could recommend a Feathered Star Pattern with a large center and one that didn't require templates. My sister has been looking unsuccessfully for weeks and can't come up with a pattern. I thought you ladies may be able to help. We would certainly appreciate any help you could give. Thanks.

Haven't made this one, but Quilter's Cache's patterns are usually good:

Judy Niemeyer has a fantastic one that is paper pieced. It is a bit different than the traditional feathered star but gorgeous. The pattern is so expensive because it includes all the paper foundations you need to make it.

Did she look at Judy Martins older book. She seems to always have a feather star in many of her older books.

The Quilter's Cache version looks perfect.

Sue Garman has a feathered star at the center of two of her medallion quilts - Washington Medallion and Stars for a New Day. They are lovely, and she provides the paper-piecing templates for every single piece.

Marsha McCloskey has written several books about feather stars.

Try one of Marsha McCloskey's Books. The newer ones have rotary cutting directions. She came to our guild for a program on her feathered star quilts and WOW, I thought she was great. I have one of her other books and I think the directions are really clear and precise.
