I just got my Featherweight this weekend and I will be posting pix soon.
Does anyone have any idea how to clean it? What do you use to clean it? What lubricant do you use on it? Oil? Will the one that come with it work? Or should I just use the oil that I have for my other sewing machines? Thanks for all your help! |
Look for the vintage sewing machine thread they have a tutorial for cleaning vintage machines.

Use only water or oil on a soft rag on the machine. Many things can destroy the decals and the finish. Be sure that anything you want to try is safe before using it.
Sewing machine oil is often all you need. I wouldn't use really old oil; what you use on your other machines would be fine. It does need to be sewing machine oil; this oil is much finer than other types of oil. Only certain featherweights require lubricant (comes in a small tube made by Singer). Again, learn about this before using it. |

go on line to the singer website and you can download a manual for the featherweight. It gives great instructions on where to oil, where to use singer greese etc. it also tells you how often to oil.
Hope this helps |
