What brand and size needle do you prefer to use in your Feathweight?

I use schmetz micro tex sharps, but the size can vary depending on what thread I am using. Hope this helps

Any regular sewing machine needles will fit a Featherweight. I try to have my needle match my fabric and thread. Just like any other machine you should change your needle after every project or ten hours to keep it stitching at its best. You can stitch much longer with the same titanium Superior needle.

I never knew that about needles - just kept on using the same one for years until it broke. Partly I did that because every time I would switch needles, I would lose some kind of bobbin or top thread tension and have to go back to the shop to get another reminder how to put the needle back in the machine.

That's the kind of thing that happens when you don't use your machine very much (I was only doing Christmas/birthday presents at the time). Now that I use it more frequently, I guess I'll have to get it together!

Guess I wasn't clear. I knew I was talking about only using 100% cotton fabric as I only use my Featherweight for piecing quilt tops. Being on a "quilting" forum I just assumed everyone knew what I was talking about. Gosh, how silly I feel. Thanks for reminding me that most needles used for med. weight woven fabrics should work in my Featherweight.
