Feed dogs not feeding
I have a Jamone, which I love, however for the past month or so, I have noticed that when stitching over a couple of seams, the feed dogs won't move the fabric through. It isn't when doing regular piecing, it seems to occur when I am sewing over a pinwheel block, or another seam that has some bulk. The dogs are clean, the top tension is good. Is there a way to adjust the dogs so that they 'grab' the fabric better? I couldn't find anything in my manual about it.

I have a Husqvarna Lily 540 and recently had the feed dogs adjusted when I had it serviced. It is amazing how it stitches through the seams now. I don't think they had to be adjusted much, but just that tad.... wonder why it took me so long to get it done!

I was going to ask when they were last cleaned, but it seems you've already thought of that. I guess thimblebug's answer pretty much sums it up.

Try loosening the feet dog tension a bit..it may be too tight and can't push that bulk thru....I know that sometimes I have to release a bit to get bulk to move thru...just an idea

I have to adjust the foot pressure on my Janome to sew over bulky seams because of the design of the accufeed foot. It gets stuck on the ridge if I don't.

Presser foot tension should be tightened. When you lift the presser foot, then let it drop, does it go down easy, or does it slam? It needs to have some "slam" to it.
Your sewing machine tech can raise the feed dogs if they've dropped. |
The pressure foot does have some slam to it. Yes, it seems to get stuck on the ridge.....I am not sure how to adjust the presser foot tension... that is what I was searching for in my manual and there wasn't any information on it.

Which Janome do you have? I have a 6600 and there's a knob on top of the machine
(left side) to adjust the pressure foot tension. |
I have a memory craft 4900

It's the knob on top. Here's a link to a downloadable manual for your machine:
