Feed dogs on singer 99k
 

I know on my 201 the feed dog will drop for FMQ, will they also drop on 99k? I don' t see anything on machine that does this, maybe looking in wrong place.

The feed dogs don't drop on the 99. You can use a feed dog cover plate or just cover with a business card.

If you are attempting FMQ, the 99 has a horizontal bobbin case - horizontal bobbins don't work as well for FMQ. The vintage Singer's which have a vertical bobbin case do work well.

I know the 301's are often used for FMQ. I'm just starting on my 301 for FMQ. I also have a Singer model 237 (vertical bobbin) that I've great luck FMQ'ing. Disclaimer: There are two versions of the 237, one w/feed dog drop and one without feed dog drop - yet they are the same model.
