Feed/Flour sack fabric
I was given 4 handsewn blocks made from 1930~40 feed/flour sacks or bags. They measure 12" x 12", approximately. Is it a good or bad idea to include them into a new quilt, made with 2016~17 never used fabric??? Thanks:shock:

Is the fabric strong? I would see about that and if it is I'd use it.
I love vintage fabric. I've had mixed results with it. Some fabrics hold up better than others. |
if seriously less strong, back the blocks with strong muslin. If the blocks still look off, compared to new fabric, use them to cover pillow or in small wall hangings.

Dense quilting also helps. I'd use them in something not likely to be washed much (like NOT a baby quilt).

Thank you..... it does seem fairly strong. If the quilt was not a gift, I would for sure mix the blocks in.

That makes alot of sense. It will be used most likely for a lap quilt, for my older sister. Thank you

Great idea! I have mended old quilts using the muslin backing, had forgotten about doing that..... Thank you
