Fess up...do you own any quilts bought from a store or catalog or tv shopping?
 

I do love quilts of all kinds. In addition to making them I have a nice collection of "bought" quilts. Many are King size and some Queen. I love all kinds of quilts. Just wondered how many others there are here that love quilts of any kind.:)

I have at least two. Both were great buys and went perfectly with where I needed a quilt. I have to confess, I bought them during a period in my life when I thought my health would NEVER allow me to quilt again. We as quilters love quilts, I don't think it odd you like to buy them from other sources also.

Not only do I not have a quilt I made myself- for myself , I don't have any store bought ones either. Back before I started quilting I had some but they all fell apart and I have never replaced them

I own several whole cloth quilts. Yep ..imports.. but they are wearing well .. hard to go wrong with just a single piece of fabric that has stitching about every 3/4 of an inch. I use them as a bed spread then a "real homemade quilt " over the top. I love whole cloth quilts... and figure that the only way I will ever have that look.
I don't own any purchased pieced quilts. I was given a pieced quilt ( cheap import) about 20 years ago... it did not make it through the first wash without coming apart. On examination... there was almost nothing for seam allowances.

Yes, I do! I bought a cheap quilt at a department store for our camper bed. It gets everything thrown on top of it when we are going camping. I was not going to spend the time and money making a quilt and have fans, fishing rods, cooler, and all kinds of other camping stuff thrown on top of it. This one cost only about $39, cheaper than I could make a quilt. It still looks pretty, considering the abuse it takes.

I bought quilts before I started quilting - the store bought quilts which are now well-used (ragged) I keep to maybe duplicate the patterns. I have two handmade quilts that are in desperate need of being redone that were given to me by friends who no longer wanted them - I hope to redo them at some time and return them to the friends. I have started a new york beauty for myself which gets put to the back burner when a new project comes along. I have made many, many lap quilts as prayer quilts and those all have been given away. I love all quilts.

Many years ago I bought one from a store for my cat to use on the back of my sofa or on my bed during the summer. he had a soft small blanket/throw for winter.
since then, i bought a king size quilt from Target for my bed. I have three cats now!! I don't mind them getting on that one.

for almost 5 years people who i gave quilts to would ask...'so, what is YOUR quilt like?'...i would (sheepishly) tell them the quilt that lived on my bed was one i paid $300 for from Pottery Barn...

i have finally replaced it with one i've made- actually have 3 i've made for my bed- but i still have that Pottery Barn quilt too.
my hubby didn't think i would ever get around to making US a quilt- it bothered him much more than it bothered me

I bought a beautiful lap sized handmade Christmas quilt at Bed Bath and Beyond in NYC for $65 about 20 years ago.
