I want to make a quilt for my daughter, who loves to take pictures, incorporating the pictures she has taken and I would like to do a border that looks like a filmstrip in black and white fabric. I saw one once a few years ago but don't know where. Have you ever seen a quilt with this border? Thank you for any leads. Gerry

Here is a tutorial for a filmstrip quilt. Maybe this will give you some ideas?

Here is a pattern with the effect you are looking for. I've found this site and "Quilts with a Twist" to have the best I-Spy types of quilt patterns (without the usual simple box). Good luck! |

Thank you. This jogs my memory. I think black with white dots and skinny black strips inbetween white squares on the border will give me the look I am trying to achieve. If I can do it, I might put pictures in the small squares, but sounds like a heavy undertaking. Have to give that some thought.

Sounds like a lot of work, but oh my, will that be striking. Good luck on the project and please share a picture when your done.

Thank you, Gayle. The layout looks like it might be something I could incorporate.

I've sewn a table runner with a film strip border and am now wondering how to quilt it well. Any ideas? I can do straight lines or free motion.
