At some point in this thread (or another one about this same subject) there was a question about the pattern size. The original pattern that I printed out said to cut the biggest piece 7-1/2" high. Then there was a response from someone that the tissue cover turned out too small. Then someone else said it should be 8-1/2" high instead. To you all that have been making so many of these - what is the correct size?
I have been making some of these from another pattern and I really like this pattern better, but have not made any yet. Thank you,, Pat |

Yep, a still photo tute is here on the net---------but I'm not good at finding stuff. SOMEBODY, point the way!
I've increase the sizes of the lining to 6" x 9" and the outer shell to 6" x 7". The tissue packets are a bit loose in this size, but the center doesn't gap open. (don't panic-----------the measurements are right. You'll see.) I did find that when my opening gapped more than I wanted, I overlapped the ends of the opening just a bit & I was happy with that. You must be seeing these things in your sleep after making so many. |
Wow. That's a lot of tissue covers and one way to kick out a bunch of scraps... I don't think I'd want to make any more for a long time that's for sure :D

I've never made any of the tissue holders but you've got me thinking I need to do so. And I thought I was going to clean house in the morning. LOL

Thank you,, Pat I had templates made by a sign writer for a couple of pounds so I can tell very easily whether or not a scrap is going to fit and speeds up cutting immensely. The tissues I use are packs of 10 from our Poundshop (Dollar store - which of course here, is $1.60, lol). The tartan holder has tissues in it. tartan |
Addictive exercise! I ran up 3 dozen a couple of years ago when my girls turned 21 as party favours for all the ladies. They were loads of fun to make and much appreciated by the recipients.
