Finally figured out how I will sew with vintage embroidery blocks

First off I want to thank suggestions and comments I rec'd. After a lot of thinking and time, decided would use the log cabin log, the centre will show the block of embroidery and then I can attach the strips. I came across this site and going to give this a go. Also the look I am after is called low volume, a term new to me. But it is light colors and that is how I would like the entire quilt to be is very light. The blocks finish out at 20 inches, so it should not take that long to sew up. It is going to be a queen size for my bed, so would like to have it on for the summer. Thanks and here is the site with the pattern I am planning on using.

Great just remember a little contrast is a good thing. Think a polar bear in the snow. All shades of white you can't see the bear. I think pastels with a nice variety of lights mediums and maybe a few lighter darks and you will have a lovely quilt! I would use light wait batting even for a summer quilt. Have fun! Luann

Thank you for reply, I did a sample block up, the colors are not vibrant, there is contrast, I normally sew with a lot more brights, but do not this one bright.

I recently made a quilt using lighter colors. I call it my "quiet quilt" and I am very pleased with it. There was contrast, but nothing loud. I suspect you will be very pleased with your results, and if you have made a sample block, then you know how it will look. I think the log cabin quilt with all the white was beautiful.

Quiet quilt, now that sounds good to me. And those are my intentions. I love color in quilts, just feel like something not so bright. Thanks Dina.
