Ruby is really a pretty machine. Keep the pins away from her and she will look good for years.
I love your saying "first feather weight". I'm on #11 and they all sew great. I keep thinking I should sell a couple of them, get them all out, sew a few things trying to figure out who goes, then put them all back to sleep again. They are just wonderful machines. You will love her. We had a flood in our house a few years back. Got about 1 inch of water in my sewing room, so we had to move everything out. That included all my sewing machines. My husband knew a had a couple feather weights, so he helped carry them to the garage. After a couple trips, he said, are these all featherweights? Then he said, they must of have babies and now have a nice family. We still laugh about that and my love for these little machines. |
Congratulations! My husband bought one for me last month on e bay and I love her. She was also born in 1957 the year I graduated from high school. I named her Ida E. after my mother in law who died at the age of 95 on July 16 2011. I know we are both going to be happy with our new friends.
Best wishes Mia |
