find those silk thread pre-wound bobbins
A month or so ago I found a site that sold pre-wound bobbins of YLI silk thread. I think it was from a famous quilt teacher. Anyone know what I'm talking about. I really want to order now that I have the money and a little time for hand applique.

I don't know but will be watching this thread as I also am hoping to soon start on a hand applique journey

I'm no expert on this, but I have read a couple of horror stories about silk thread deteriorating over a period of about 7 years. If you are interested in cotton thread instead, here is a link to bobbin collections from Superior:

It may be Diane Guadynski, she is a big fan of YLI silk thread. I doubt real silk will deteriorate. Too many century old silk garments still around.

I love the Piece O Cake bobbins!
