One of the best things about the board is sharing ideas. I saw a Halloween quilt last night and it was pretty cool. It got me to looking and searching pics of quilts. I got sidetracked to ebay a few times looking at pics. I came upon a few skeleton quilts. Maybe I have a morbid curiosity to start with but the whole Halloween theme for a quilt is awesome. You can make it fun or scary and there are many Halloween prints out there.
Well I think I like the Skeleton design but instead of copying something I decided to make a few of my own from scratch. One of the quilts pictured is only 16" so I think it's more of a quilted place mat. I want my skeletons full scale.

Thats a great idea! I was thinking a diamond pattern. But if I made coffin shapes and lined them up side by side tops to bottoms and made the whole thing coffin shaped that would be awesome.
I'm going over this in my mind and it looks like it will be hard to sew with no straight runs.

Halloween really is the most fun holiday. Halloween parties with bobbing for apples, running through the corn fields, dressing up, carving pumpkins, haunted houses, paying homage to the dead, and the themes / components, colors, shapes, are art and quilting gold mines.
This coffin shaped squares is a challenge I will conquer.
