After sewing for 50 years I've finally figured out why I cant grow nails on my left hand! I use the 1st and middle fingernails to remove pins when I'm sewing. Am I extremely slow witted or does anyone else have the same problem?

Certain of my nails are always chipped or split. Same reason!! :-)

What finger nails. I use mine for everything digging things out of cracks, digging in the dirt. I never wear gloves so I don't have any.

I used to have long fingernails but in the last few years I have been clipping them short and I like it better that way. Also a nurse friend once told me that under your nails is the most popular place to germs to thrive. I also use my nails for everything so they were always breaking any way.

I have the opposite problem, mine grow fast and are hard. Don't use nail polish all the time, it actually can cause nail problems.

Fingernails just get in the way.

They drive me nuts, and i don't let them grow out.

My nails on those 2 fingers have grooves in them that won't grow with rest of nail. Drives me nuts!!

I've never figured it out either.

My finger nails are pretty hard. But I notice my thumb nails from hand quilting and the needle catching wear the one part of my nail and they sometimes break as they get longer.
