Just the binding left to do. Which is probably going to be the hardest part. My quilt is 100 x 100. I want to do 2 1/4 inch binding. How do I calculate this so I know how much fabric to buy?

Depends on the width of the fabric - you have 400 inches to add binding to and a 2" overlap where they meet, plus 2" where you join each strip. If the fabric is 40" wide, you'll need 11 strips x 2.25 inches, about 25 inches. I'd probably buy a yard because it will shrink some.

You will need approx. 420 inches of binding. Assuming 40 usable inches per strip, thats 11 strips (I always
over-estimate to allow for, well, you know!)

11 x 2.25 = 24.75 inches of fabric (or just a touch over 2/3 yards)

Clear as mud?

if you buy a yard you will have plenty and a bit to add to your stash.

Ditto ... I'd go for a yard as well!

I have a book Quilter'd Refference Tool from my LQS. It is invaluable with its tables & charts.

According to my Quilters FabriCalc, if you cut it 2-1/2 inches, you would need 7/8 yard. So I also say, go for a yard.
