I bought some fabric last year to make a couple of quilts for the fire department that a guy I work with belongs to. The firemen have fundraisers for different charities and organizations each year, and it's usually in the spring and summer, I offered to make some quits for them to raffle off at their next fundraisers.
I'm not looking to so something overly complicated, and my fabric is rather juvenile, so can anyone suggest a pattern for me to use?

Oh yeah, I meant to add that I have over 3 meters of this fabric, so depending on what patterns I use I could probably get at least 2-3 quilts out of this, if I use other fabrics in coordinating colours from my stash :)

How much fabric do you have? You could do a simple red, white and blue for the front then use this for the back.

Okay - I'm not so good with the metric measurements. Is it enough for the back? Or at least an major portion of the back? I just can't think of many ways to "man" this fabric up.

Since the fabric is juvenile why not make smaller quilts, maybe toddler size for them to raffle?

1 meter is 3 inches more than a yard, I was thinking of making quilts that were lap sized. I also figured that the people buying raffle tickets for these quilts would most likely give them to a child or something...
What if I fussy cut 6" squares of this with two other colours and made a D9P? I'm not sure how to arrange all the squares to make the quilt right side up, though.
Or what if I cut the trucks in strips and used that as one of the borders?
I just wish the print was smaller, these trucks are big and it makes coming up with a design a little more complicated.

Or, what if I make a light blue, yellow and white 9 patch background (or any simple pattern) and fusible applique the red trucks onto the front... would that be good?

The first way would be good. I like the second one better, maybe make the blocks larger.

I have held a ruler around the 'edges' of each of the firetrucks. You can fussy cut one engine at a time and you will have a wide 'square'. Because one pattern of fire engine is not free enough to cut around and use each engine, measure about 1/2 inch around the intended engine and cut out to make a block of an elongated size. You will have sacrificed the engine beside/over/under this block, but can reverse the choice of cutting from the next. Then I would piece using navy or royal blue .... something to add to it's colour in a strip between each row. Another thought, the blocks will not be regimented so you could 'frame' each engine in say blue and use them scattered rather than in on straight line down.
