Hi everyone! I'm planning on making a quilt, and I'm in the design stage. My mother-in-law showed me some of her quilts that her grandmother made her, and they had patches of her and her brothers' shirts from when they were children and I thought that was really cool :-) So I want to incorporate some of my dad's plaid workshirts and my great-grandma's old nightgown.
Anyway, this forum seems really amazing and helpful, and I would love to start posting here! I'm so impressed by the quilts everyone makes! Here's a picture of the quilt I'm designing. These are basic color ideas, I'm hoping to find some pattern fabric with the same general color scheme I'm looking for. The pictures will all be appliqued. Any ideas and/or tips would be greatly appreciated! |
Looks like it will be a beautiful quilt.

Welcome from SD .This is wonderful and I think it would work well with both appliqued and if you were using panels for the picture blocks. I love it.

You don't say if you have ever made a quilt. It sounds like you may not have. If this is true, then you need to begin by learning the basics of quiltmaking: cutting, piecing, etc etc etc.
And you don't say what the appliques will be or where the shirt etc fabrics will be. Are you asking for sources of fabric? Some basic questions here before informed responses. |
