I have yet to start my first quilt that I have to have finished by the end of August for my In laws 52nd Anniversary. My husband needed a little extra attention and decided to go in the hospital on Wed. night. His blood pressure was 202 over 168 he wanted to wait until this Saturday to go, the doctors told him he would have died if he waited. Anyway he is going to be fine, just needed 2 new meds and I will make sure he takes them. Also Iwill finally start today cutting my fabric for the quilt but I am still waiting on out of State family members to send in there part of farbic for the quilt. Please pray for my husband and for me to finish this quilt on time I will post pictures when I get done. I am very excited about this project. Thanks for listening (reading). Shawn ;-)

Wow, that is high blood pressure. I'm glad he is doing better. I can't wait to see your quilt. Is it going to be a memory quilt? I hope everyone sends theirs soon and you can get it started. Post pic so we can see it.

Glad that your husband didn't wait until weekend to get checked out. Your plan for your quilt sounds great, keep us posted on your progress.
|
I hope your DH continues to do well! You've definitely taken on a HUGE undertaking to get this quilt done by the end of August especially if your FAMILY MEMBERS don't hurry up and get their parts sent back to you! I'm happy for you also on this project! I'll be anxiously awaiting pics of the finished quilt!
|
Maybe a polite reminder about the deadline of the quilt project should be passed along when you update the family members of your DH's health.
Sending prayers and hugs. |
I will keep your quilt and your husband in my prayers. Good luck!

Has anyone checked YOUR blood pressure recently???? :) with all the extra stress.....don't forget to take care of yourself! Prayers and blessings your way!
|
You certainly have a full plate....dont forget to take care of yourself - first !
|
I know about those kinds of husbands. They try to take care of everyone else and neglect themselves. My DH was just released from hospital and he is not taking it easy like he was instructed. Best wishes to you, though.
|
Wow: you do have a full plate. Prayers coming your way, thankfully you took your DH in and didn't wait. Good luck on getting that project finished in time.
|
Please remember what your priorities are. DH and yourself first! If you have to you can give your inlaws a card letting them know that this is what you are doing, but because of lifes interuptions things have had to be pushed back - but its on its way. I'm sure they'll understand!! :-D

That blood pressure is scary high. I am so glad that he went in when he did. You both will be in my prayers. Best wishes with your quilt and if you have any questions, you know where to come!
|
The same as others, I am glad to hear that your husband is doing better. That is high blood pressure!
I read one of the other replies that suggested to give them a card if necessary which is an excellent idea. What you might also do is to include a picture of the quilt in progress to let them know what they will be getting. Make sure you have your priorities straight. You and DH are your first concerns. Don't rush your project....you don't need the stress (nor DH) and I'm sure they will understand. You might want to gently remind the other family members that you don't know how much time you will have to devote to the quilt and that you need their help getting all material to you as soon as possible. Good luck. I, too, am praying for health of both of you, family members getting you material, guidance and wisdom for quilt, finishing quickly, and doing an outstanding job! |

Seinding prayers and help to get the quilt done. If for some reason you can;t, make a sketch of it and put it in a really nice card with a "W.I.P" on it (work in progress). They will understand!

Ms. Shawn, how is your DH now - the 2nd week of August and has your family cooperated with the needed supplies you requested? I have had you on my mind and in my prayers. Do you have time for an update?

MEN!!!!! keep afteryour dh,sometimes you have to DRAG them to the dr. my dh was diagnosed in july 2000 w/ colon cancer,by the time i DRAGGED him to dr it was way too late,he passed away in jan 2001. hindsight ............ |
Ditto! I couldn't get my DH to go to the Dr for years. He go laid off at one point and decided he needed glasses. Took him to the eye doc and found out he had advanced stage glaucoma. It has been 12 years now of surgery, procedures, implants etc. If we had found it earlier it would have been easily treated.
