I made this quilt after seeing several posted here. It was fast and fun! I also did free motion quilting for the first time. Previously, I had only done stitch in the ditch. I can't tell you how intimidating it was to start. I just decided not only to try, but to NOT rip out the mistakes. This was an "all in" effort!! I'm happy to say it wasn't that bad  I am actually looking forward to doing free motion again.

for my niece-she picked the colors!

OOPS...Why are the pictures so small???

reneebobby 09-15-2008 05:08 AM

I don't know but the quilt is nice.

I think they are small because of the size they were saved. You may have to go back in and re-save them at a bigger size. They are saved at 96x73 pixels. The picture below shows a photo saved at 600x450. If you right click any picture and choose properties, it will tell you the size that it was saved. If you are using a digital camera, check your camera settings to see if you have the camera saving pictures at the smallest size when you are taking them. Some cameras have this feature so you can take more pictures and use less room in the camera itself. Otherwise, you'll need to check your settings in whatever program you use to save the pictures to your computer.

Thanks, Babeegirl! I actually had a harder time getting the pictures from my camera to the computer, then I had making the darn quilt  I'm going to get a professional to help me with the pictures....my kids
And since you can't see the quilting...it was perfect!

babeegirl 09-15-2008 05:49 AM

I love the colors and cannot wait to see the quilting. Did you use batiks?

MaxineB 09-15-2008 05:55 AM

I used a few batiks...mostly any pink & aqua I could find. It's bordered in brown as my neice requested.

Hiya Karen, how you doin?? Its been quite good the weather in the North hasn't it??

Try googling free photo resizer programme and see what comes up, installing this facility makes uploading and downloading images SO much quicker. My son put an 'add-on' through windows on mine, and all I do is right click after highlighting the image then select resize to small - it copies the original but reduces it in size...takes me about 30 secs., to load a picture on here :D

Karenmay 09-15-2008 07:57 AM

Thanks Izy I'll check that out ! The weather has been really good this past few days......Malc out I have been out for our walks again this week (still trying hard to lose some weight!)

you are very welcome:) I don't know much about computers really. Just enough to either get myself out of trouble or into it depending on the kind of day it is:)
