First Ugly Quilt
2 Attachment(s)
Well!! I did it my first ugly quilt.. I have loved all my other quilts, but this one just isn't right..
Now I got decide how I am going to quilt it?? Any Idea?? |
I don't think it is ugly .... just not popping. I think the pink does the job here, especially the light pink. It needs a brighter, bolder color ..... something in more contrast to the white.
Another suggestion (if you don't want to change the light pink) would be changing the dark outer border to the darker pink or something close to it. Good luck. I know you've put a lot of work into this quilt to just toss it. BTW ... love your date on pictures, working into the future has to be fun. |
It may not be your cup of tea, but it still looks nice. Not ugly just not a big pop. You did a good job on it. I'm not much of a fan of pink. I think MaryMo was right, a brighter Pink would have popped it out more. Still it is a very nice quilt. As far as quilting it, can't give you any ideas, I'm not a great FMQ'er. I still just do straight lines mostly.

I agree with Maryjo. It would be alot of work to change out the light pink but changing the dark border to the dark pink would be easy enough and give the quilt a nice look.

As to this quilt being ugly--I don't think it's ugly at all--just calm. I think if you could do some fantastic quilting (maybe a flower) in each pink square, or feathers, or something, that it would be fantastic. Not every quilt needs to be a "wow!" quilt--just like not all of us are "wow" people--some are just rather calm to be around--this is one of those. |
well not ugly at all.some one will love to have it-so go ahead and finish it,please
|
How about something flowery in the blocks and some highlight in the sashings?
|
I have to agree with others, I don't think it's ugly at all. I have no suggestions for quilting though.

I like it just like it is. Too much work to change out the pink and I think you need a dark border to tie the print with the light fabrics. You will be surprised how different it will look after it is quilted and bound. Just MHO. I think a quilt design that has curves to balance the squares would look great.

I like it very much as is. No idea how to quilt it.
