A month ago, I asked for help on a pattern that has lots of biased edges. I took all of your advice (thank you!!!), and here is my finished quilt top! Now I need to find fabric for the back. Any suggestions on how to quilt it?

What an awesome quilt. I love your design and the colors of your fabric.

Very nice!

Love that pattern with that panel. Nice job!

Ilovesewing 05-28-2014 07:35 PM

I love that! I love the design and the fabrics...my husband would love it too :)

Auntevie 05-28-2014 07:43 PM

Thank you! I bought the fabric/pattern from my LQS. All the fabrics are from same line. The middle isn't a panel but this would be a great pattern for a panel! Wish I could have lined up the plaid (rope) fabric, but that was just out of my league!

cathyvv 05-28-2014 07:54 PM

That is beautiful! I don't fish and I would love to have it. I have no suggestions for how to quilt it. though.

I know that i didn't see the 'un-match' of the net. Had to go back and really look for it. I really do love this quilt.

Will you be quilting by machine or by hand. How much quilting do you believe it needs or you want to do

Auntevie 05-28-2014 08:21 PM

I'll be sending it out! Lol! I'm not ready for that challenge...YET! With this quilt I learned how to square up a block, almost have my 1/4 inch seam down, work with fabric on the bias, and fussy cut fabric the best I could. And it finished perfectly square! First time ever! :) My long arm quilter will ask what I want tho.

Painiacs 05-28-2014 08:49 PM

Wow! That is a great quilt!!!!! Love it! Dont know what wasn't lined up but it looks terrific to me! Someones gonna be very lucky n happy! Great job! No suggestion for quilting i send mine out! Boats? Fish? Lol

Looks great

Doggramma 05-29-2014 06:39 AM

First congrats on a perfectly square quilt! Second that quilt is great. Love all the fishy fabric. I know a couple men that would love that. I'd think of an overall quilting design for the quilt, since the fabrics are pretty busy. It would be awesome if there was an overall fish design or even waves.

KwiltyKahy 05-29-2014 07:35 AM

I love this setting. Did you have a pattern?

sahm4605 05-29-2014 07:39 AM

oooooo nice for backing any thing would be Nice but that about the blue speckled one that is the final border around the center panel? I love the quilt. It looks great.

CorgiNole 05-29-2014 08:00 AM

Beautiful quilt. I really like the way you've highlighted the panel with the diamond. Sorry - no advice on quilting motifs.

Cheers, K

Beautiful quilt! I think waves like you would see across a lake and like waves that have a criss cross effect. Where the interloock like ~~~~~ almost like a wavy figure 8.

Freckles48 05-29-2014 11:17 AM

How about an all over fish or/and trees pattern for quilting?

twinkie 05-30-2014 02:34 AM

I think you did a great job. I just love it.

giquilt 05-30-2014 02:40 AM

I would stitch in the ditch with a walking foot all the straight seams 1st. Then again along the bias. I would stipple around the water in the center square. OR all over design of fish.

citruscountyquilter 05-30-2014 02:45 AM

Wow! Do I ever love this quilt.

Narda H. 05-30-2014 02:48 AM

Very pretty quilt and nicely done. For the quilting , If you can , hire a longarm quilter that has a fish theme-all over design. An all-over design won't distract from the nice prints you have going.

sewbizgirl 05-30-2014 04:32 AM

Very cool quilt!

solstice3 05-30-2014 04:52 AM

Beautiful quilt. Right up my brother's alley. :-)

MaggieLou 05-30-2014 05:13 AM

Love it! I've been looking for a pattern to do a similar fish themed quilt. Could you share the name of the pattern?

wildyard 05-30-2014 05:39 AM

For quilting, I would do a loose ramble in the bias borders, a quarter inch outline stitch just inside both edges of the straight borders and love the idea of a fish or water look pattern for the center section.

WMUTeach 05-30-2014 05:47 AM

Wow, what a cool quilt! It makes one feel so calm and I can just imagine sitting on the bank of a shaded stream with a line in the water and more likely a good book on my knee. Lovely color choices.

Normabeth 05-30-2014 06:23 AM

This is a great manly quilt, very nice!!

rosiewell 05-30-2014 06:36 AM

what a great setting and the fabric is so beautifully coordinated. Great job.

Auntevie 05-30-2014 10:10 AM

I bought this as a kit from my LQS and it included the pattern. The fabric is really nice quality. The line is called A Lazy Afternoon by Anita Phillips. Thank you so much for the compliments. I made this for my son in law who loves to fish and I'm hoping he likes it also!

MargeD 05-30-2014 10:28 AM

It's an awesome quilt, you did a fantastic job. Unfortunately, other than quilting fish or quilting around the trees and bushes, I have nothing to suggest.

MamaLinda 05-31-2014 05:09 PM

I am totally impressed. You are a superb quilter. Good luck on the quilting decision.
