I bought both sizes of mats when they were 50% off plus used my 10% nonprofit card to make it a sweeter deal for me. I decided to do a DP-9 patch, my first ever. Cut up a bunch of batik scraps and remnants into 4½" squares. I used black for my center block. I stiched them up and pressed them. Here came the part I almost dreaded, cutting them in half and then half again. I used the rotating mat and it made cutting such a breeze. Didn't have to move anything but the mat. Because my 1/4" seam was very accurate, my middle black blocks were 4" square. All I needed to do was use a ruler and measure 2 inches all across the block and cut. Turn the mat and do the same thing again. It is always prudent to be careful and not move the fabric as you turn the mat but it sure made things much simpler. This won't be my last DP9, just because of the ease of cutting made by the Fiskars rotating mat. Just love it.

I have both sizes too, got the small one in a swap and my husband saw how much I liked it and surprised me with the big one. I love them

I bought my rotating mat just for my Disappearing 9 Patch and I am glad I did. It made that quilt so much easier, and now I have the mat for other projects.
