Maybe the "kink" of the blade is common to all rotary cutters??? I seem to have trouble getting a straight cut on a long strip. It's probably just me, but that was another reason I thought I would change from the fiskars to Olfa. So far I haven't had to tighten the screw on the Olfa but my straight cut is only slightly improved.... it's probably just me. Short arms or poor coordination, maybe both. lolol

I've used Fiskars for many years. I recieved an Olfa for Christmas and love it. I just like the way it feels in my hand.

I have a Fiskars but I've never used it and probably can't find it :-D . Otherwise, I've just used Olfa and I like them pretty well.

I have fiskers I want to keep track of this thread for my next purches.

I use a Fiskar's cutter, I haven't had any issues with it other than slicing my forearm open a bit. (Didn't bleed on anything important).

Holy cow! Now that scares me. I spoke to a woman who cut the tips of 4 fingers off. I have no idea what rotary it was, but that wasn't the point...she said she just did a dumb thing. I worry about doing dumb things, which does happen, dumb things I mean. :shock:

I had a Fiskars cutter for over 20 years, and never had a problem. I lost it last year, and had to get a new one, Fiskars again. Well, this weekend was cutting a quilt- the cutter broke! Something inside that I can't fix; the blade won't lock into place. Only a few months old, and I had to get a new one. They sure don't make things the way they used to. Now I really want to find the old one- I'm pretty sure its in the house, lost in the clutter.

I agree with both of the Fiskers problems that you mentioned. My blades dull much too quickly, and I am constantly having to tighten the screw. Am thinking of switching back to Olfa. Did not know that these were common problems!

We have a Fiskers paper cutter that seems always to be dull. I like my Olfa rotary cutter. I also have a Gingher, which is do not like.
