How did you all open up your foot pedals?

My Janome MC6600 foot pedal is doing the same thing. I unscrewed the 2 visible screws in the bottom, and it wouldn't open. I didn't want to force it and break anything. Any tips? Mine is an older machine - I bought it used 1.5 years ago, but it's at least 3 yrs old b/c the same machine at work has a slightly different foot pedal.

Thanks,
Alison Schmidt

Put a piece of the shelf rubber lining under your foot pedal

Thank you for the helpful info. I have 3 Janomes & have never had this problem, but now I know what to do if I ever do. Can I get these special Q-Tips in Canada? Thanks for the info about the velcro. Now I know what I'm going to do.The rubber shelf liner has never helped me.
