flange binding
Well i suck at machine binding did my placemats by hand untill a friend showed me her quilt. I looked up jenny`s baby quilt with flange and now im using it on my placemats havent tried a quilt yet but will sometime.

If you like the hand stitching part, and not excited over the machine top stitching, you can still do the handwork with your flange binding.
I just love the flange look, for that little knife edge of colour. Howeverrrr ..... after using it on some projects, what I didn't like about the flange, was that despite how narrow the flange was, it would flip around a bit, and was worse after washing. So, the last few I've done, instead of stitching by machine at the end, I hand stitched on the front. Lays flat, shows off that sliver of colour even batter, because it is locked in place and stays even. Happy Dance for Me! |
