Does anyone remember those thick flannet sheet blankets?
When I was a child growing up, Mom would always drag out the flannel sheet blankets for all the beds. I've used some as batting in my quilts. Can you still get them? |
I remember them. I don't know where to buy them.

I don't know, but you've given me a great idea...using the clearance flannel sheets for quilt backing, especially the winter, holiday themed ones!
|
The sheet blankets were thicker than any flannet sheets you can buy today. I don't know if they ever came in fitted sizes, just flats. They were so warm when the upstairs wasn't always as warm as downstairs. Great for cuddly up in the winter!

I remember them also, and would love to find them again, so I'm watching this topic. If there out there, someone on this Board will know!

The only place I've seen them of any quality was Lands End a number of years ago. Haven't looked for them recently and I'd really like to have another as they were quite oversized, actually fit my king bed with enough to tuck and the quality was amazing. If I can remember this long enough, I must go look!

Walmart carries them in the fall. Or at least they used to. You might Google it and try online too.
|
They are definately available in Canada and often sold under the Ibex name. I've purchased them at Sears, Len's Mills, Giant Tiger and Wal-mart. I wish they'd make fitted sheets and pillowcases to match as these are my son's favourite sheets. They still seem to be available only in cream with coloured stripes on either end.

I got mine at Lands End last year. :D

I knew I'd seen them! Google to the rescue -- Vermont Country Store carries them all the time. Looks like queen size is $40.
