I was recently looking for some white flannel to use as sashing in my first flannel quilt. The flannel prints I was using were from Valori Wells, and were wonderful quality. The first white flannel I bought (at Fabric.com) was inexpensive, which in retrospect should have been a clue. After I cut it and started working with the white and prints together, I realized what a poor quality the white was, and decided I shouldn't use them together. I then looked at several other places, but by that time, I was somewhat nervous about buying more flannel, in case it would also be poor quality. I finally ended up at one of my favorite on-line stores, Hawthorne Threads; they had a white flannel from Cloud 9, and it is superb (it was about 3x the cost of the first, and feels 3x thicker).
