I have found some really cute flannel but I don't usually work with flannel. Does anyone still use it? And for what?

omg!!! i love working with flannel! makes the most fluffy, soft, cuddly quilts out there!

I LOVE flannel. I back most of my quilts with it because it gets softer and softer and more cuddly with every use. Nothing is a cozy, to me, as flannel.

I really like flannel fabric, particularly the varigated ones. The example below is a simple throw using a varigated red on front and back and a black in the middle.

I love it for raggy quilts.

Well another opinion. I do not like working with flannel. It causes a lot of lint in my machine, wears much faster then normal good quilter's quality cotton and after 5 or so washes feels hard and has little balls on it. I make an effort to buy Marcus Brothers flannel or other good flannel. Only some solids and checks was up nice and soft over time most others seem to get rough.

I use it alot for quilts, rag and pieced. I think it makes a warm cozy quilt. you do get lint from it, but i clean out my bobbin area when i replace the bobbin so it's not really an issue for me.

See that is what I had heard before, so that is also why I have avoided it to. :-)

I love working with flannel. Great for baby quilts, rag quilts, or any kind of quilt.
