Does anyone know what a flat fold piping strip is? I know what piping is...like you put around the yoke in a Western shirt, but I can't figure out what a flat fold piping strip is. My sister is really the one who wants to know, as she just called and asked me...the supposed sewing expert. But I don't know. Can anyone help me out?

I think she is referring to a flange. It is done just like piping with out the cord.

Yes. Picture the trim on a pillow case. Just a narrow folded strip of fabric sewn between the other fabrics. It gives a framed effect, kind of like the double matting a photo or artwork.
