Fleece Batting?
 

Our local store has Pellon Lightweight Needle Punch Sew in Fleece Batting for sale on a super special.

I don't know anything about this....Is this good for baby quilts? Or?

I've tried to search it but with no real results.

No, my Google is not broken. The one you linked says "interfacing" not "batting", and it doesn't say anything about being needle punched or lightweight.

Hi Watson, I don't have any personal experience but the pellon site does list several different blends...maybe you can get a little more detail before deciding to try it? Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Just wondering .... is the store mis-naming it?

The fleece that I have seen is an iron on fusible, called for when making purses/bags.
While it is probably technically called interfacing, to me it has more of a batting quality to it.

Check it out and see what you think about it.
If hesitant, buy a small quantity, rush home to try it .....
Then if you like it ...... run back before the sale is over, and stockpile!

All of the Pellons have their product name/# on the bolts, so you could check on that with the store, and read up about it online.

I find Pellon products to be too stiff for quilts for my liking. Can you go to the store and feel it?

Make sure you know the width of the fleece. I use a polyester "fleece" all the time. It is 90" wide and it washes well, is very light and quilts well. There is a fusible one that is only 40" wide and I use it for bags and such.

I was wondering the same thing Watson. I have a ton of it. I'm going to give it a go on a charity quilt and see how it quilts up.

Watson, Is the batting thicker than regular fleece? Just curious.

I talked to Chris at the Orangeville Fabricland and she said it would be a weight she would use for placemats or runners. This one is sew in--not fusible. And of course, they did not have any. Drat!!
