Pinking shears would work also.

Scalloped rotary cutter is a new one on me however I look it up on site called The Find the had them for under $6.00. This maybe a must have.

I usually just cut a small fringe on the ends and leave the sides smooth.

I have made around thirty to forty of these and have tied them. However, my hands usually ache pretty good so I may have to do the scalloped and sew. Love these blankets. Wish I had pics of all of them I have made and given away.

Our local childrens charity has requested flece blankets made with one layer of flece. You cut strips about 2 inches wide, and about 4 inches long. You cut a tiny slit at the top of the strip, and pull the bottom of the strip though the hole. They look really nice and it is faster than tying. You still need to cut the corner squares out like you do when you tie them.

Grammyp...that's what I did. Quick and easy. It's a single layer and my one cat always wants to curl up on my lap with this blanket!! Not bad in the winter but this summer I've been roasting...LOL

I "free hand" scallops with my scissors. Pretty and quick!

This is a great way to do fleece blanket edges.
