Has anyone used spray basting on fleece? I am almost ready to start quilting. Thanks!

I haven't. But will be starting baby quilts for three new babies soon so I am curious too.

I didn't have very good luck with my June Taylor quilt basting spray on poly fleece for the back of a baby quilt. It does mention on the front that it works best with cotton batting, and I really think it means it "likes" cotton best as mine shifted so much that I picked out the couple rows & ended up pin basting.
Edited to add... I see now that it says Intended for use with cotton quilting fabric. Any other fabric should be tested for compatibility prior to use.... guess it pays to read the can... hehe.... maybe different basting sprays would work better? |
I can't remember which basting spray I used but it worked out for me, but I still pinned.

Ok my brain was not working. I did not think to just test it. I tried it on some scraps. It looks like it is holding. I have never used spray basting before. How do you know for sure it is working. I picked it up by just the cotton fabric and the fleece came with it. Although I could pull the fabric apart??
Thanks? |
