Are you pre-cutting, Is there a list of things to have ready? Anymore info coming before then?

Kitty Yates 10-22-2007 04:38 PM

Do you still plan to have a printed version for those are not able to do the class live?

jbsstrawberry 10-22-2007 07:30 PM

Ohhhh dilemma!!! I might have to miss this one as much as I hate to!! But, ummm, you see, theres one of those garage sales, riiiiiight down the street from my apartment, and they have, and I quote, "tons of fabric and craft supplies, everything MUST go!". It starts at 8am so you know I'm gonna be there at 7:30!!

lin 10-22-2007 08:05 PM

I'm really going to try to be there. This sounds like a lot of fun. If there's anything we can get ready ahead of time, I'm all for that!! If you have to put it back an hour, I may be late. I like to sleep in a little on Saturdays. I'm up so early the rest of the week. But if the majority needs it sooner, then so be it. :) I can always catch the printed version instead. :D

Rebecca Chambley 10-23-2007 01:01 AM

Sat 10:00 AM is alittle early since I HAVE to attend this meeting, How about afternoon? I'd like to be here for it. I know majority rules,

MAXIES2 10-23-2007 03:19 AM

Can anyone advise me what time that will be in England.
Thanks

Knot Sew 10-23-2007 04:09 AM

Is there going to be one on week days too? :?:

zyxquilts 10-23-2007 05:51 AM

Maxies2 - I think that would be 3pm in England. According to www.timeanddate.com, time in London is 5 hours later than our Eastern time.
Hope that helps!

MAXIES2 10-23-2007 06:45 AM

Thank you zyxquilts, I will try and make it.

sewmuch 10-23-2007 08:53 AM

I'll be there, 7:00 my time.

bj 10-23-2007 08:55 AM

I probably won't be able to sit in live. Grandbaby will be here for the football game, as well as his parents. Hope the class will be posted later with pics and directions as originally planned. Thanks Debbie and Sharon for putting it together. If it's a success, maybe there will be more to follow. This group rocks!

Feathers 10-23-2007 10:33 AM

Hi Sharon:
I'm new to the "class" thing. Is your "Sewing Forever, Housework Whenever" the project we will be making? where do I get info about the class so I'm ready at the crack of dawn on Saturday?

Feather

quiltmaker101 10-23-2007 10:51 AM

Still waiting to find the fabric requirements and pattern posted before class.

sewmuch 10-23-2007 10:57 AM

In News Flash class thread lists what you need

ShellyQ 10-23-2007 01:04 PM

Hi sorry to miss this one but Hubby is working Sunday so I can't really go crashing around the house at 3am  , but another time when hes's not working on the Sunday I'd love to join in. Can easy set the alarm, would be no big deal, but I really can't do that to him it wouldn't be fair. So I hope everyone enjoys it and it goes well and hopefully there'll be another that I can join at some time :P

Feathers 10-23-2007 01:09 PM

I'm sorry I must be really mentally THICK but I can't find "News Flash" class anywhere. Any hints? Thanks for trying to help me.

Here you go Feathers:

Class fabric requirements:

one piece of fabric 17 or 18 inches by width of fabric for backing.

one piece of warm and natural or warm and white the same size.

one focus fabric that is 9 inches square. Could be any picture but has to be cut on point. So that it sits not square but it sits diamond shaped.

Strips of fabrics to coordinate with the middle square cut different widths anywhere from 1 1/2 inch up to 2 3/4 inch. You should have at least 6 or 7 different fabrics but more is good also. I used quite a few in mine. I think I used 20 different ones but have done them with less and that is fine too.

You also need a coordinating fabric for the binding. I would use a fabric that is also in your runner.

I prefer you use warm and natural cause we will be doing ironing on top of the batting and wouldn't want to have any melted messes.

I hope this is going to be fun and that we have many more classes like this.

Feel free to pm me or ask on the board if things are not clear to you.

Debbie

Hi Feathers, here's the link, http://www.quiltingboard.com/posts/list/2764.page hope that helps and you are not thick, you mustn't say such things about yourself, consider yourself offially scolded :D

Feathers 10-23-2007 01:40 PM

Hi Debbie:
Thank you for responding. I now have the list of required stuff but now I have to ask if there is a picture that we can see of the project? I'm such a visual learner I will do better picking out fabric if I know what I'm making is suppose to look like. Thank you and I'm sorry I'm such a pain.

Oops!! Didn't know someone else had already done that.

Now we have it posted more times than we need! LOL

Suz 10-23-2007 02:00 PM

I must be out-of-the-loop. What is News Flash?

I will probably be able to make class this week, but the next ones will be questionable unless they start at 11:30 a.m. or later.

I will be starting my 4Hers for the season and they are here from 10-11:30 on Saturdays.

I am anxious to see how this works. Suzanne

mimisharon 10-23-2007 03:55 PM

Thanks, Sue! I have been totally out of it all day after the "Greeting of Marines" yesterday. I appreciate you posting the items, needed for us. I was going to do it this morning, but couldn't get the connection to hold.

Hope to see as many of you as can make it. I will be copying the directions and explanations as Debbie gives them, she will take the pictures and we'll merge for a complete explanation the middle of the week.

She DID offer to do it one evening, that isn't booked with chat already, but she teaches on Wed and Thurs. So we'll see how it works...OK?

Suz, whoever wants to instruct gets to choose the time. It has to work for the instructor's family. We'll know more about how it's all going to work after we try it Saturday......that's our test.

Feathers, ShellyQ, all of you, I appreciate the interest you are showing. If we all work together we'll have a good time. :D

amma 10-23-2007 10:24 PM

I am not sure if I will be able to join on Sat. it depends on if my grandsons will cooperate, lol. I have a 2 new Disney movies and their favorite munchies as bribes, but, they are young. I did not know until tonight that mom needs me to babysit this weekend. Will there be an evening class scheduled?
Thank you again Debbie and Sharon for all the work you are putting into this!
