I found the perfect mat to save my feet AND back when I'm standing at my cutting table: a yoga mat. It cost $20 at Walmart. It's called a 'High Density Floor Mat' , and measures 65" x 23.5" x .39" thick. It rolls up and has straps, so I can carry it to my yoga class. Double duty!

I am just not having any luck getting the picture from my camera into this site today. I did exactly what I did last week to post the picture of the Mixer Cozy, so don't know what's wrong. Sorry!

Judy, sandpat, ninnie and klue - I'm glad you like it. I stood up cutting on and off all afternoon - forgot to use my back aid and knee brace, but the mat saved me - I'm not paralyzed!

Sounds like a great idea.

Excellent idea! I also have seen those little rubber puzzle pieces..actually they are not real 'little'...I'd guess about 6" square size. Anyhow, they are bright colors and you piece them together and are foamy. I've seen them under the feet of those at quilting machines...good idea to get some cush under those toes!:)Skeat

I got smart and finally got a new chair that will raise and lower. I can raise it high enough so I can sit and cut at my table.
I also have my ironing board down to the level where I can sit and iron. So now when I'm sewing, I can sew, then turn and "wizz" over to my ironing board, then back to machine. I don't have to get up. Hubby says it's lazy, I say it's smart!

It's VERY smart. That's what I have in AZ. In CT, my sewing machine is in a different room from my cutting table!

I think so too! I used to have a carpet on the floor, but the chair wouldn't roll too well. When I changed rooms, I just left the carpet out. Now I am much happier and my feet don't hurt from standing on the ceramic tile.

I LOVE that your daytime is my 12:15am - because I'm an insomniac. Nice that someone else is awake!

When I return to AZ and my sewing room with the CEMENT floor, I may get another yoga mat, because SOMETIMES I do have to stand up!
