Just purchased the flower stitch attachment and am wondering if you all had used this. If so, any ideas or comments?

I have the flower stitch attachment and I have done some experimenting with it. It does sew in a small circle. You can use different decorative stitches and they sew out looking like a variety of little flowers. Although I haven't tried it yet I think it would be pretty to tack a quilt this way.

This has been available for years. The old Singers had them. I would like to see samples of what you make with this.
|
I want to see better pics too. Looked at the site and kinda hard to tell.
|
Very interesting attachment. I have never seen one before now.

It takes special embroidery thread, maderia embroidery thread, available at JoAnn's. I had hoped that I could learn how to use it with regular thread, but now I am afraid I will "booger it"
|
I was not aware that the flower attachment required any special thread although I can see where special thread would make pretty flowers. I made all my samples with everyday thread like you would use for piecing and had no problems. Give it a try. I think it will work just fine.

I found one of these in my attachment box for my 15-90. I think you have to use two layers of fabric or interfacing. Why special thread?

I don't have any available right now but maybe I can get some new pics. If so I will post them.

These have been around for years. Another way to do it without purchasing the attachment is to tape a thumbtack down on your machine, where you want the center to be and put your fabric on the thumbtack. Then just sew.
