Has anyone used the Flynn Quilting Frame and do you like it?

I have not used one but I watched the video and was really intrigued...

I am loving your avatar quilt! Do you have a bigger picture of it that you can post here? I would love to see it... so pretty!

Welcome to the Quilting Board from Missouri! Just a hint - go to the top of this page and click on "Search" and then type in "Flynn Quilting Frame" and then click on "search" and a whole bunch of topics will pop up for you to click on and read older posts about the Flynn Quilting Frame.

it is a matter of choice I guess, I had one and could not for the life of me get the hang of it so I sold it.

Hi and welcome from Texas! I thought about the frame, but after research, it seemed most people felt like the gals who posted above. I ended up ordering the plans for this frame http://buildaquiltingframe.weebly.com/ . He sells the plans on ebay, too...hubby is in the midst of building it now...I sure hope it works as well as what I have researched says it does. I know I had a couple of questions prior to purchasing the plans, so I e-mailed the man. He was very polite, helpful and quick with his response.
Good Luck to you,
Kif
PS love your board nickname.... :-D

I have the frame but do not have it set up. My son and I are in 'talks' about creating something to go with it where my machine moves instead of the frame. If it doesn't work, I may end up selling it.

I bought one, my DD used it and gave up on it, clumsy and not easy to use. I didn't try it, we gave it away.
I think if you master FMQ on your sewing machine, you will be just as satisfied and didn't spend the money for it.
I haven't met anyone yet who liked it and used it beside John himself.

Add me to the list of people who just couldn't get this frame to work. I think my problem was mostly because of my small sewing space... you need a lot of room to maneuver the Flynn frame properly.
