I got my Flynn frame ( at last). Now I am trying to learn to quilt on it. It feels like I am starting all over with the learning process. Does anyone have one of these frames and if so do you have any suggestions. I like not having to pin and baste the quilt sandwich, but am having problems learning how to control the frame to get the quilting I want done. Any suggestions.

My friend has one , so I asked her. She said she loves it, but as in anything else,practice, practice, practice. Pam W.

How large a quilt can you do on that frame?

It comes in crib size but you can extend it with pvc pipe.
Just remember it takes up the whole length on one side of your machine so gets very hard to handle. The rollers have a tendency to fall off the table if your not adjusting them as you go.
I have one but dont like it much. Fine for crib size but not any bigger than that. Waste of money. Doing small quilts is easy just with your sewing machine so why bother.

it's a small tabletop frame for your machine except you move the quilt in the frame, not the machine over it. I saw a demo at the quilt show but didn't look worth it to me. Now he can use it quite well! But on a very small quilt.

My understanding was that it could be used for both machine or hand quilting. Do I have it wrong?

There's a 30 min demo video and he is shown quilting on a large quilt as well as a smaller one.

Littlehud: let us know how you like it once you get past the learning curve. I would be interested in this one.

I bought the frame from desertdebbe who did not like it at all. I love it! I practiced on a small (18" wide) muslin quilt, then a whole cloth 1 yard WOF quilt for my dog & am now quilting a 54x 60 quilt for my MIL.
I have found it pretty easy to use.
HINT: tape a pencil to each end of your table & the pvc pipes (rollers) won't roll off the end of the table.
I watched the video- see link above- several times & I feel it helped me.
You can use it for hand or machine quilting.

Joann - How were you able to adjust it to fit the bigger pipes on it? I can't find pipes that will fit into the black end thingies...

I bought pvc pipe at Lowes that fit, the pvc at Home Depot was the wrong size.
I took the end pieces with me to check for fit after I bought the wrong size at Home Depot.
