FMQ on the Jolly Jelly Roll
How would you quilt this quilt?
http://christaquiltsblog.com/2012/07...t-supply-list/ This is not my pattern but it worked up very quickly and is a nice baby-sized quilt (I'm only using 100 4" squares). Since there is no solid space to really show the quilting, I'm frustrated trying to decide how to quilt it. I don't want it stiff as a board so I'd like to do more than just lines or allover stippling or pebbling. Thank you for any suggestions you might have. I'm really new to FMQ but open to trying any and all suggestions! Ellen |
I think stippling is more suited to this fabric where the quilting won't be showcased because of the quilt design

You could cross hatch on the diagonal intersections of the fabric squares.

When you have a busy pattern and use prints, the quilting doesn't really show up well. Stippling or an all over meander like loops and flowers (stars, hearts, etc.) would look nice and you could quilt it loosely so it won't be stiff. Some quilts are well suited to stippling. I personally don't care for quilting stipples (I find it boring to do the same thing all over LOL), but they have been the best choice on some of the quilts I have done.

Ditto what Tartan said.

Okay, I'm doing an all over, loose, meandering with loops and hearts. It's a baby quilt so I think it'll be appropriate. Thanks for your suggestions!
