I change colors wherever needed. I believe the final look is worth the effort.

One of the ladies I quilt with showed me what she did last week. She rented long-arm time and quilted all the cream background area, which like your white she could do continuously. Now she is going to hand quilt the dark blue areas. Patricia Drew mentions Invisfil is that the "fishing line"? I used that to quilt a cream and dark red so it doesn't show.

I agree with EasyPeezy! I've had success with Invisafil which is 100 wt. It comes in colors, but it really sinks into the fabric. So if you choose a pale grey or taupe, you won't see it.
